Senior Mechatronics Engineer
Make the drone that delivers medicine to grandma!
We usually respond within a month
Aviant delivers food and medicine to your doorstep using drones. After starting in the labs at MIT in 2020, Aviant has launched three home delivery bases, covered tens of thousands of kilometers and managed to take a leading position in the European drone market.
We will now launch our fourth base, which will reach nearly 100,000 people. Suburban operations like this require a robust, simple and safe aircraft. We are therefore looking for a senior mechatronics engineer who can lead the mechanical and electronic development of our fixed-wing VTOL drone Notus. We seek a hands-on engineer with previous experience building unmanned aircraft or similar. In this position, you will have a huge impact on bringing drones to society. If you think that sounds exciting, we’d love to hear from you!
As our senior mechatronics engineer, you will be:
- Leading mechanical and electrical development processes
- Working closely with the operations team to further improve our drones' usability and robustness
- Planning and supporting integration test programs for new features
- Guiding and mentoring junior engineers
- Investigating failed systems to establish root causes and implement mitigations
What are we looking for?
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to work autonomously in the fast-paced, complex, and ambiguous environment of a startup
- Skilled in analysis, simulation and design of mechanical and electronic systems
- Passion for Aviant's mission
In Aviant, we have a broad range of backgrounds, but we all have in common that we love solving problems. Our vision is to make society more efficient. Therefore, we are seeking enthusiasts who wish to build something that matters. If this sounds like you, we hope that you apply!
We have a running application deadline for this position and will evaluate candidates as they apply.

About Aviant
At Aviant, we enable autonomous parcel delivery by drone. After starting in the labs at MIT in 2020, Aviant has signed ten commercial contracts in Scandinavia, flown over 1,500 flights covering more than 30,000 km, built a robust team of 20 people, and managed to take a leading position in the European drone market. We have just launched Scandinavia’s first autonomous home delivery service with drone, called Kyte (https://kyte.delivery/). This marks Aviant as one of very few players worldwide doing autonomous home delivery by drone. Therefore, we are continually seeking enthusiastic top performers - people with a desire to work at the forefront of autonomous logistics.
